This riverfront city anticipated the need for a local conference center to support conventions, as well as other events. Vicksburg officials desired the facility to correspond and occupy space in the downtown area as part of future revitalization efforts. In this reflection the Center was added to the city's downtown river front with respect to the surrounding structures of the earlier architecture. The interior of the convention center focuses on functionality to accommodate many types of events. The smaller meeting rooms are divisible by partition walls to expand to a larger exhibit hall. The hardware and lighting plays an integral role in the presentation of amenities that are consistent throughout this well planned facility. A large hall is available at the rear, it is adaptable to accommodate concerts and banquets.
